British Gas National Youth Championships James Brinkley competed at the long course (50m) pool at Ponds Forge in Sheffield this year at the British Gas National Youth Championships, having achieved the qualifying time earlier in the year at the 50m pool in Crawley. The National championships are the highest level of domestic competition so James was competing against the 100 fastest 50m freestylers in the country aged between 15 and 18. To reach this level is a great achievement in itself but James competed extremely well and did his club proud. In a PB swim of 25.03 James moved up the rankings to come 51st overall and 18th in his age group. James is an example of what can be achieved if you want it enough and put in the hard work.
