Kent Junior League Round II The second round of the Kent Junior League took place on the 10th of September, and the team and its many supporters travelled down to Dover to try and win the gala outright (having tied for first position in the first round). A slightly depleted Bromley team (after a broken leg and other unforeseen circumstances) took on Dover, GBM, Dartford and Saxon Crown, and they led from start to finish and won the gala overall with an impressive 32 point lead over the second place team. The performance was massively improved from round I and there were some truly excellent races. The gala saw 21 personal best swims and 22 first place finishes. The vast majority of swimmers achieved a top 3 finish so well done to the whole team. First places came from: Alex Cheeseman, Emma Wade, Matthew Rogers, Lilly Dabin, Michael Eagling, Louisa Knight, Joe Dobb, Charlotte Doyle, Felix Haslam, Nicole Bambroffe, Theo Haslam and Robert Shorter. Congratulations to those of you who achieved a personal best time: Alex Cheeseman, Joe Dobb, Matthew Rogers, Lilly Dabin, Hugo Charuy, Phoebe Hampson, Francesca Powell, Michael Eagling, Lily Wylie, Charlotte Doyle, Luc Hoolahan, Taylor McCarthy, Matthew Ruiz, Robert Shorter and Katherine Taylor. The final round will take place on the 19th November. If we win the next round we will be promoted to Division One- a first in Bromley's 100+ year history. David Court --Kent Junior League 2011 Round 1 Saturday 18th June saw our Junior swimmers compete in the first round of the Kent Junior League. David Court --november 2010 On Saturday 20th November Bromley's junior swimmers took centre stage in the final round of the Kent Junior League 2010. Having won the previous two rounds Bromley SC was in a strong position and looked set for promotion should they manage to repeat their previous performances, and they didn't disappoint. With 15 first place finishes, 16 second place finishes and 7 third place finishes out of 51 events Bromley led the way convincingly from start to end. Gaining 234 gala points, Bromley finished the league with a total of 661 gala points (our closest rival being Maidstone with 557) and we achieved a full house of 18 league points after winning all three rounds meaning promotion to division two next year. Well done to all swimmers who were part of this very special promotional team. Your team spirit was excellent throughout the rounds and there were some great swims. You thoroughly deserve this victory.
